Unreachable CentOS IPv6 mirrors

The mirrors unreachable from U.K. will not get handed out via IPv6 mirrorlist.centos.org.

Mirrors that are reachable from all locations

There are currently 290 HTTP mirrors and 144 rsync mirrors that are reachable over IPv6 from all monitoring locations. You should still probably use the mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/... directive in your yum config instead of picking some specific mirror with baseurl. When accessed over IPv6, the mirrorlist server will only hand out working, reachable and up-to-date IPv6-capable mirrors.

Other assorted information

If you get an error like Failed to connect to 2a02:2498:1:3d:5054:ff:fed3:e91a: Network is unreachable with yum, it means your server is unable to connect to the mirrorlist server over IPv6. Either disable IPv6 (CentOS 5, CentOS 6), or better yet, fix your routing so that your server can access the mirrorlist server over IPv6. If you're not using IPv6 and still get that error message, make sure you can reach mirrorlist.centos.org over IPv4 (test with ping and curl -4).

To reproduce the results:
wget --max-redirect=0 --tries=1 --inet6-only --timeout 20 http://$url/TIME
curl -6 --max-time 20 http://$url/TIME
rsync -6 --contimeout=15 --timeout=30 rsync://$url/TIME /tmp

Times are in UTC. Reachability is defined here as the ability to fetch the TIME file, regardless of how old it is. Monitoring nodes check HTTP URLs every three hours. rsync URLs are checked only daily.

If you need to do a traceroute6 to the mirror monitoring nodes, use {fi,sg,uk,us1,fr,us2,uy}.ipv6.miuku.net as the target.

If you can provide me a VM from Africa for additional monitoring, please contact me. Requirements: one IPv6 address (no IPv4 needed), 1GB of memory, 4GB of storage, one CPU core, preferably CentOS, less than 10GB/month of bandwidth. In return you'll get a notice of your contribution at the top of this page, diagnostics information on how your network's IPv6 routing works as compared to the other networks (this system monitors 250+ IPv6-capable mirrors all over the world) and a warm fuzzy feeling for helping with the worldwide IPv6 rollout :)
